In the 1837 Census James was a servant on William Brockman's farm at Herne Hill. Married widow Mary Pratt on 1 October 1846 at Perth. James Jenkinson was a servant to RH Bland. In 1847 he was in partnership with John Tomkins at 'Salt River' in Northam. He employed about ten people and employed a ticket-of-leave man in 1864. James died 1888 at Perth.
