Dr Richard Hinds owned Lot L23 at Perth and 'Caversham Rise' on the Swan River. In 1841 was appointed chairman of the Perth Roads Trust. Richard died of dysentery 20 February 1843. Son Richard returned to England and arrived back in the Colony in 1845 with a wife and child. He married in England to Martha Emma McCallum. Richard died in May 1846 - his widow then married in December 1848 to Revett Bland.
