William was first married to Sarah who died 30 April 1837. Married a second time to Eliza, daughter of James and Ruth Read on 14 June 1838 at Fremantle. Eliza had an illigitimate daughter Sarah Elizabeth 6 August 1836. Set up a business as a sailmaker and storekeeper in 1843. Wife and children departed the Colony in November 1848 per the 'Waterlily' for Van Diemens Land.
