John married Elizabeth Ferguson at Toodyay 27 September 1855. Elizabeth was born 18 February 1839 (daughter of Alex Ferguson). Shepherd and flockmaster at Victoria Plains in 1840 with Scottish shepherds. He owned a Toodyay Town Lot and a building which was leased to the convict establishment. Departed the Colony on 27 February 1866 per 'Kestrel' for Sydney. May have gone to Canada.
