Henry arrived with his uncle George Hills in the service of the Henty brothers. When the Hentys abandoned the Swan River Colony, Henry accompanied James Henty to Tasmania in January 1832 on the ship 'Cornwallis'. He married Margaret Caswell on 17 January 1837 in Launceston, Van Diemens Land. Together they had 13 children. He was a farmer and grazier and land owner at 'Weymouth Farm'.
