Indentured to Lieut. Bull and Wood. William married Janet Dewar 12 April 1836 at Perth. William was an Upper Swan farmer and flour miller at 'Ellensbrook'. He retired to West Guildford. In 1860 he qualified as a juror having four hundred pounds real estate. He bought Swan Locations 382, 430, 432 & 438 between 1864 and 1870 at Bullsbrook totalling 180 acres and held pastoral leases of 9200 acres. Employed 26 ticket-of- leave men between 1856-1873. William died 8 September 1874 at Guildford and Janet died 13 March 1888 also at Guildford.
