Married Mary Jane Anderson on 1 May 1842 at Perth. Mary arrived on the 'Ganges' in October 1841. John died 1846 and daughter Emma died 1847. Daughter Emma's death is recorded as Hokin. Mary Jane Anderson remarried Thomas Hokin on 2 April 1850 and had three more children to Hokin - William b 1848, David b 1850 and Emma Jane b 1852.
