Henry was a whaler who joined the Fremantle Whaling Company from 1838-1840. Married 3 December 1845 (daughter of James and Ruth Read). By 1845 he was earning a living as a ferryman. His wife died 7 April 1852 at Fremantle. Henry joined the rush to the Victorian Goldfields and then went prospecting in New Zealand. His son Frederick found him ill and destitute at Dunedin in 1877.
