Charles was the son of Sarah Massingham and Emma was the daughter of Thomas Boys and Matilda Wall. Charles and Emma married 1853 at York. Emma died 5 June 1865 at York. Charles worked for Hamersley at York and became a farmer and grazier. Charles married for a second time to Rosannah Wansbrough 16 August 1866 at Beverley, he died 13 November 1885 at York.
