William arrived with sister Martha and brother Charles Heal. William was a member of the Heal/Morgan party. He was granted Guildford town Lot 2 but mistakenly built his house on Lot 1. The original grantee of Lot 1 agreed to transfer ownership to William. He was one of the first party to cross the Darling Range and settle the York district. On behalf of absentee landlords he performed location duties for several properties including land owned at York by Thomas William Mews, boat builder of Perth. Thomas Mews transferred 500 acres to William on 21 January 1831 for his services. William called his original grant at York 'Simbrass Farm' (later known as Ballardong). He transferred his grant to Northam in 1836 - naming the new farm 'Biligoblin'. He acquired several adjoining properties. He died suddenly on 28 February 1845 at 'Newleyine', Northam - sixteen years after arriving in the Colony. His legacy of hard work and astute business acumen resulted in his nephew Abraham William Morgan inheriting considerable rural and urban properties.
