Sarah first married William Meall Lewis on 26 December 1831 at Fremantle. In February 1832 a daughter was born, however, her husband William died in the same year of 1832. James Day married widow Sarah Anne Lewis (nee Cheatham) 1 April 1833 at Fremantle. James was living and working in the Fremantle area until the 1840's. In 1845 he travelled to Mauritius to establish an import trade in sugar and export of timber, horses and other goods. Sarah died 16 March 1854. James was farming when his son William was married in 1857 to Susan Hymus. James Day died at Fremantle 3 April 1858.
