Wife Ann died prior to 1830. Charles came out as one of Latour's party expecting to establish a business as a tanner, wool stapler and fell monger. William departed the colony per 'Governor Burke' for Sydney in 1833. Charles and his son Charles worked as shipwrights during the 1830's. Charles Cass senior died 18 May 1840.
