Mary died 7 August 1831. Dr J Wingate Johnson of HMS 'Sulphur' on 5 Oct 1831 replying to letter of 2 October respecting the health of Alexander Fendam, Government Cooper, stated, 'In his opinion Fendam is unfit for duty that requires exertion. He labours under general debility accompanied with indigestion and inguinal rupture.' Acc 36/18/36 - This Certificate was sent to Colonial Secretary by Colonial Storekeeper on 5 October 1831 (Acc 36/18/34-35) where he represented that Fendam the Cooper was incapacitated to perform his duties from continual indisposition. Alexander died 25 August 1833.
