Granted 5000 acres in Swan district with Smithers. Selected 1375 acres in Avon district in 1832. Had Perth Lot L67 in 1834. Was a farmer at Upper Swan in the 1837 Census. Part owner of the schooner 'Elizabeth' and made several merchant voyages. Explored the Geraldton area and discovered the Hutt River in 1840.
