Sarah Mary died May 1838 at Guildford of Dysentery. It is believed the son may have been sent back to England. Granted 240 acres at Avon - lost it due to non improvement in 1848. Owned Guildford Town Lot F18 with Bartlett and was granted a title in 1869 (fee simple). Member Guildford Town Trust 1845-9. In 1832 he signed a memorial respecting the religious condition of the Colony. George Best died 7 September 1873 at Beverley.
