George arrived with brothers Daniel and Thomas. Another brother William and his family arrived later. Elizabeth McKnoe was the defacto wife of George Syred. George joined the Police Force 3 September 1841. With his defacto wife Elizabeth ran the Baylup Inn. He also worked in the Sandalwood trade and held pastoral leases at Bolgart and owned land at Noble Falls. Built a bridge at Jumperding Brook. Died at Guigeline 11 November 1862 and Elizabeth McKnoe died earlier the same year on 11 January 1862.
