Henry and Ann married 1829 in England, just prior to their departure. His offical capacity was Assistant Surveyor to the Surveyor General John Septimus Roe. He was the Collector of Revenue and Treasury Clerk in 1834. Colonial Treasurer in 1850. Was also a MLC. Family had land at Perth Lots X29, X30, X31, X32, L22, Sub 6 between 1832 and 1834. Anne died 12 September 1850. Henry then married a second time to Frances Bussell 15 May 1851 at Perth. After a very distinguished career, Henry Charles Sutherland died of cancer 12 February 1855 at Perth. His second wife Frances (Fanny) died 7 July 1881. Further reading: 'H.C.
