George was the second son of John and Ann (nee Allen) Sewell formerly of Maplestead Hall, Little Maplestead, Essex. His parents with their younger children, followed their two elder sons George and John to the Colony arriving per the 'Mary and Jane' 8 October 1841. George married 24 March 1845 at York to Elizabeth Logue - daughter of Joseph Keys and Elizabeth Logue. Farmer at 'Spring Valley'. George died at Swan District 1891 and Elizabeth died 17 February 1912.
