Arthur arrived as a servant to RG Meares. Bought Perth Town Lot V33 in 1835 and was listed as an agricultural labourer in the 1837 Census. Married March 1843 at Perth to Jane Crampton (born 1821). Jane arrived on the ship 'Diadem' 10 April 1842. Farmed on his own account by 1845. Departed for South Australia March 1849 per the 'Arpenteur'. His wife and children followed him in September 1850 per the 'Daphne'.
