Departed London on the ship 'Rambler' which was wrecked near Cape Town. Travelled on to the Swan River Colony per the 'Eliza' with his brother Peter. Married in Perth 11 April 1844 to Mary Woodward daughter of James & Sarah. Worked for Morrell at 'Springfield Farm' at Northam. 'Chidlows Wells' was named after the Chidlow brothers. Mary died 12 July 1866 at Northam and William died 6 June 1879.
