The family arrived on the Rockingham in 1830 under the Thomas Peel Scheme. The ship ran aground during a storm, and as Peel had made no provisions for shelter, food or water, the conditions were horrific. It is thought Mrs Cook died in April 1831 from the effects of these conditions. No record can be found in any English County of births or marriages of the Cook family. The family remained in the Colony. Daughter Eliza married William Thacker on 4 October 1838 at Guildford. Son Thomas George married Cecelia Nicholson at Toodyay in 1843. Phillip worked as a labourer and applied for an inn licence in 1850. Was a farmer between 1880 and 1889.
