In the Colony by August 1831 working as a Chainer. Appears in the 1832 Census as Riley. Former Quartmaster in the British Army. Chainer in the Surveyor General's Department. He was also a Schoolmaster. In the 1837 Census he is in gaol. Sentenced to 11 years transportation for larceny, departing in 1838.
