Married Elizabeth in Scotland. Was a labourer at Guildford in 1830. Elizabeth and two children arrived later on the Cygnet. Joseph's wife left him soon after arrival and became George Syred's defacto wife. Joseph was a Police Constable 26 February 1847. It is believed he may have gone to Victoria per the 'Vivid' in December 1854. Elizabeth died 11 January 1862.
