John arrived with Children's Friend Society. Was in the service of Alexander Cheyne for five years. He paid a proportion of his passage money and was left free to engage himself. By 1841 he was working for Leake. Admitted to Colonial Hospital for three months in July 1845 and was discharged in September of that year.
